Coconut Bars with Almonds
Makes 2 dozen squares 6 T. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 1 t. vanilla extract 1/2 c. moist, shredded coconut 1 c. flour 1/4 t. salt 1 t. baking powder 1/4 c. slivered almonds Preheat oven to 350 F. Thoroughly cream butter and sugar; add egg and beat well. Add vanilla and coconut. Add sifted dry ingredients and beat well. Mix in nuts. Spread in greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake 20 minutes. While still warm, cut into squares and remove from pan.
