Easy Halloween Recipes:
Halloween Party Food for Grown-Ups and Kids

gross recipes for halloween halloween party food halloween party recipes

Looking for easy Halloween recipes? Halloween party food can be simple to put together.

How about Halloween desserts that taste great, while looking disgusting enough to thrill? Check out this Kitty Litter Cake! It looks completely nasty, but anyone brave enough to try it will love it. Or, if you'd rather try something less extreme, dirt cake might be the option for you. You can decorate it with gummy worms, or marshmallow ghosts and cookie grave markers.

Halloween cupcakes are always fun for kids of all ages. Use any of these cupcake recipes and get creative with these cupcake decorating ideas.

You can't mention Halloween treat recipes without including apple cider and of course, caramel apples. Make them simply caramel, or go all out with layers of chocolate and sprinkles.

Hunting for savory Halloween party food? Many recipes can be turned into Halloween party recipes just by renaming them something ghoulish. For example:

A chicken wings recipe could be called "Glazed Bat Wings."

And Black Bean Chili with meat can be "Flesh and Beetle Stew."

The stuffed olives appetizers could be "Baked Eyeballs."

Chips and fresh salsa or guacamole dip can be called "Fried Flesh Chips with Bloody Salsa and Swamp Goo."

Eeeew!

Last but not least, it's easy to turn party drinks into Halloween drinks. Take a party punch, add a pint of sherbet and let it melt into foam, then call it "nuclear waste" or "swamp juice." Put it in the freezer until it gets slushy, and serve with candy insects on top, or whipped cream piped in the shape of a ghost (put in a ziploc and snip off small corner of the bag for piping).

You could also pipe whipped cream ghosts on top of Orange Julius -style smoothies and add mini chocolate chips for the eyes.

If you are serving adults, check out the Lava Lamp on the champagne cocktail page. And Jello Shots are always popular.

I hope you have fun with these easy Halloween recipes!
