Easy, Ten-Minute Homemade Hummus Recipe

hummus recipe

Aunt Jan's Hurry Up Hummus Recipe

Serves 6, takes about 10 min.

3 cans chick peas (garbanzos)

3/4 c. extra virgin olive oil

1 T. garlic powder (or chopped garlic)

1/2 c. tahini (sesame seed paste)

1/2 c. lemon juice

salt and pepper to taste

paprika and parsley for garnish

Combine last six ingredients (except garnish) in food processor or blender; add chickpeas 1/2 can at a time drizzling in olive oil to achieve smooth consistency (about like Farina). Pour into a large bowl (or dipping bowls) or smooth it out over a serving platter. Garnish with paprika and parsley; drizzle remaining olive oil over the top. May be served at room temperature, warmed, or chilled as preferred. Excellent nutrition. Loaded with calcium. Very good served with pita bread and fresh veggies for dipping.
