Onion Sauce Recipe
Makes 2 cups 1/2 c. minced onion 6 T. butter, divided 3 T. flour 2 c. milk 1/2 t. salt 1/8 t. pepper Cook onion in 3 T. butter until translucent. Set aside. In another pan, melt remaining 3 T. butter and stir in flour. Gradually stir in milk and cook slowly until thickened. Add salt and pepper. Stir in onions. Use this sauce with green beans, or to add variety to other vegetables, or instead of gravy on meat or chicken.You may make it thicker by using cream instead of milk. Great casserole sauce.
