Sweet and Sour Meatballs Are Easy and Delicious

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Serves 10-12

Meatballs:

1 pound ground beef

1 pound ground pork

1/2 bunch fresh parsley, chopped

1 cup bread crumbs

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon dried oregano

2 eggs

Sea salt

Freshly ground black pepper

Sauce:

1 jar (14 oz.) Heinz chili sauce

1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce

1 jar (32 oz.) grape jelly

3 tablespoons dried onion flakes

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional. May add more, to taste.)

Directions:

Preheat the broiler. In a large bowl mix the beef, pork, parsley, bread crumbs, cumin, oregano, eggs, and salt and pepper until well-combined. With damp hands, roll into meatballs. If you use a tablespoon to scoop the mixture before rolling, you will get about 80 small meatballs. Put them onto a sheet pan and broil until they are browned and cooked through, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Put all the sauce ingredients into the crockpot and mix well. Add the meatballs and stir to coat well. Put the crockpot on low and let cook for 2 hours.
