These Turkey Meatballs Are a Fantastic Alternative to Beef and Pork Recipes





Turkey Meatballs

Serves 4

1 1/2 pounds fresh ground turkey

1 small sweet onion, diced

2 teaspoons chopped fresh oregano 2 teaspoons chopped fresh basil 2 to 3 cloves minced garlic

Sea salt

Freshly ground black pepper

3 large eggs

1 3/4 cups bread crumbs

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour for dusting meatballs before browning

Directions:

Mix turkey, onion, fresh herbs, garlic, and salt and pepper. Add eggs, bread crumbs, and heavy cream. With damp hands, roll meatballs to desired size Dust with a little flour. Add oil and butter to large saute pan and cook over medium heat until the butter turns golden brown. Add meatballs and brown on medium-high heat. Finish by roasting in a 400 degree oven or simmering in tomato sauce (time will depend on size of meatballs).
