Classic White Sauce Recipe
White sauce
3 T. butter 3 T. flour 2 c. milk 1/2 t. salt 1/8 t. pepper Melt butter and stir in flour. Gradually stir in milk and cook slowly until thickened. Add salt and pepper. Makes 2 cups. Variations: Cream Sauce: Use cream instead of milk. Egg Sauce: Add Chopped whites and mashed yolks of 2 hard boiled eggs along with 1 t. minced parsley. Pimiento Sauce: Puree canned pimientos (or press through sieve) and add to sauce.
